2012 Woodlot Owner of the Year
A woodlot owner from Six Roads, Ernest Boudreau purchased his firstwoodlot in 1995. It was only a few years later that Mr. Boudreau began doing silviculture work on his land, which encompasses a total of 67 hectares ( 165 acres ).
Mr. Boudreau began silviculture work on his land in 1999. Among theses activities we find semi commercial thinning, pre-commercial thinning and selective cutting on the majority of his lot. Mr. Boudreau has spent a lot of time ensuring he managed his woolots in a sustainable manner, a true example of a devoted owner.
More than adquate, the work Mr. Boudreau has performed over the past several years serves as a model of what a healthy and prosperous woodlot is supposed to look like. Therefore, the tile 0f 2012 Woodlot Owner of the Year, bestowed him today, is one that is richly deserved.
