SAWLOGS
Species:
- Spruce and fir must be sorted.
Length:
- 16'6" +/- 2" (498 cm - 508 cm) 503 cm target;
- 12'6" +/- 2" (376 cm - 386 cm).
Diameter:
- Min. 5 3/4" (14.5 cm) outside bark top;
- Max. 22" (55.9 cm) outside bark large end.
Specifications:
- Scale: Mass;
- All limbs must be flush to stem;
- Pasture spruces NOT acceptable: the log will be culled;
- All sawlogs must be free of foreign materials (rocks, wires, spikes, chains branches etc.);
- No butt rot on logs with a diameter of less than or equal to 12" (30 cm) outside bark;
- For logs over 12"(30 cm) butt diameter, up to 25% end diameter rot is acceptable;
- Red Stain is acceptable as long as the growth rings are visible and wood is sound;
- Saw Logs must not contain any worm holes, no seams, cracks, heavy knots, no split butt or tops, no punky spruce, cull trees, no dead trees or burnt wood any other defects;
- Sweep - for logs up to 12" (30 cm) top diameter, no more than 1" (2.5 cm) and no more than 2" (5.1 cm) in 8' (2.44 m) of length for 12" (30.48 cm) and up top diameter logs;
- Butt will be square (trimmed flush) excessive butt flare MUST be removed;
- Every supplier must conform with our Quality program;
- Logs will be loaded with butts turned one way;
- No wood more than 3 month without authorization;
- All unacceptable wood will be reloaded on truck and deducted from scale.
OTHER:
- Cleaning debris off trucks will be done after weighing out, at designated clean-off areas;
- Directions on where to unload will be given by scaler.
STUDWOOD
Species:
- Spruce and fir must be sorted
Length:
- 9'6" +/- 2" ( 284 cm - 295 cm) 290 cm target.
Diameter:
- Min. 4 1/8" (10.6 cm) outside bark, top;
- Max. 14" (35 cm) outside bark, large end.
Specfications:
- Scale mass;
- All limbs must be cut flush to stem;
- No rot, sound;
- Red Stain is acceptable as long as the growth rings are visible and wood is sound;
- Sweep no more than 1";
- All stud must be free of foreign materials (rocks, wires branches and spikes etc.);
- No worm holes, no seams. cracks, heavy knots, no punky spruce, cull trees, no dead trees or burnt wood;
- Butt must be square(trimmed flush) excessive butt flare MUST be removed. No split butts or tops;
- Pasture trees will be culled;
- Every supplier must conform with our Quality program;
- No wood more than 3 months old without authorization;
- All unacceptable wood will be reloaded on truck and deducted from scale.
OTHER:
- Cleaning debris off trucks will be done after weighing out, at designated clean-off areas;
- Directions on where to unload will be given by scaler;
- For safety reasons, loads must be un-cabled AFTER initial weigh in.
